In a nutshell, High Dynamic Range imaging (HDR) is a new digital technique that lets us capture extreme brightness ranges in our images. We can now photograph scenes of extreme contrast (dark interiors that include bright sunlit windows) that would overwhelm film or a single digital capture. Special shooting methods combined with powerful Photoshop tools and software let us produce final prints with lush shadow detail and gloriously detailed highlights.
