February 7-8, 2009 This two day workshop will be a fun and exciting chance to work one on one in a very small group setting with Dan Burkholder. The location for this workshop will be at a private estate on the beautiful North Shore of Kauai, near the Kilauea Lighthouse. Located over a National Wildlife Sanctuary the views are stunning and will provide a fantastic backdrop for the workshop. Included will be a one and a half hour midday break with a delicious lunch and time for the participant to photograph the scenic views and lush grounds.

All you will need to bring is your camera, tripod, laptop with Photoshop CS2 or CS3 and a notebook.
Dan will provide each participant with a CD of workshop notes to take home.http://www.king-cart.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi?store=danburkholder

It’s one thing to read about how new, exciting techniques can add impact to your own photography, and another to actually do it! This two-day hands-on workshop will teach you how to capture images with your digital camera and craft them into exquisite images you’ll be proud to display.

  1. Learn meat and potatoes digital techniques that you can use every day to create images with vivid midtones, glowing shadows and milky smooth highlights.

  2. Enjoy shooting techniques that both simplify our camera techniques while adding control and precision.

  3. Go beyond the “recipe” steps of High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDR), delving into the creative “art and craft” techniques that put soul and intrigue into your HDR images.

  4. Make digital printing a predictable and repeatable step in your workflow and Dan takes the mystery out of Color Management. Make your prints (finally) look just like what you see on your computer monitor.

Don’t miss this chance to take your imaging skills to the next level.
